First female Provost of the College of Medicine, and popularly called FAS, here is what to know about 64 year-old Ogunsola, once a student of 60 year-old UNILAG, now the Vice-Chancellor of same institution that prides itself as the university of first choice
The Council of the University of Lagos,(UNILAG) has appointed Professor Folasade Tolulope Ogunsola as the 13th Vice Chancellor. She is the first female to be so appointed in the history of UNILAG, an institution founded in 1962.
The tenure of the current Vice Chancellor, Prof Oluwatoyin Ogundipe will expire on Nov 11,2022.

Before her emergence, Ogunsola was Provost of the College of Medicine, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Development and Services) two tenure.
The 64 year-old Professor is an alumnus of the prestigious University of Lagos, a sixty year-old institution.
FAS the First
Folasade Tolulope Ogunsola (born 1958) is a Nigerian professor of medical microbiology, who specializes in disease control, particularly HIV/AIDS.

Ogunsola was the provost of College of Medicine, University of Lagos and is reputed as being the first woman to occupy the position. She was also the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Development Services) of the institution between 2017 and 2021. She was elected as the acting vice chancellor of University of Lagos on 24 August 2020, by the university’s senate.
The Appointment
The appointment was made known at the end of the special meeting of Council held on Friday, October 7, 2022.
The appointment of Professor Ogunsola is for five (5) years with effect from Saturday, November 12, 2022 to Thursday, November 11, 2027.
